Postdoctoral Researcher in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa
A postdoctoral position in condensed matter theory is open at Prof. Wang-Kong Tse's research group at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. The research activities of the group are broadly concerned with optical, magnetic and non-equilibrium properties of quantum materials and heterostructures, including two-dimensional materials and topological matter.
We are looking for a candidate with a solid background in quantum many-body theoretical techniques
and proficient numerical skills using one of the standard programming languages (Fortran, C++, Mathematica, MATLAB). Previous research experience in optical and non-equilibrium transport properties (using e.g. Keldysh or Floquet formalism) is highly desirable.
The position will start in July or August 2020. The initial appointment term will be one year and is renewable for a second year subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should submit a concise statement of research interest (up to 1 page) and the following:
1. CV with a publication list
2. reprints/preprints of two or three selected publications
3. a list of three references
by email to wktse@ua.edu with the subject line “CMT postdoc application”. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
